Overcombe Corner 2: cardigan

The cardigan I found just peeping out of the sand at the edge of the water.

I just saw a bit of sleeve at first

When I pulled it out it was covered with weed and sand – I wish I had taken a photo of the state of it then, but I was so eager to discover more about it, I rinsed it when I got home and lots of weed came of leaving these little fragments attached.

Some of these pieces send me off on whole fantasies about the human stories that brought them to where I find them.

An extra small, hand-wash only, dark navy, woman’s cardigan.

Was it bought in Japan, Sydney Australia or the Netherlands.

Was it blown over the side of a yatch.

I would SO like to know more about it’s story.

    • Fascinating isn’t it – a fantasy I have is that it blew off a boat during the Olympics in 2012 – the sailing events were held at Weymouth. I wonder if it could be in such good condition after 4 years in the sea, but surely it would take time for the weed to attach itself – more to discover.
