‘Beach Clean Art’ was inspired by 2 Minute Beach Clean, instigated by Martin Dorey, after I had seen him on the BBC’s Springwatch programme.
The pain and outrage I feel at how we are treating our environment demands a creative response. I can combine my love of colour and texture and care for the environment in each piece.
An opportunity to experiment with mixed media – a way of indulging my delight in anything rusty, and/or weathered, with a human backstory.
This blog is mainly a way of me keeping a diary of the beach cleans I do and the art created from them. And a way of saving the work of other artists working with beach finds.
I welcome feedback, especially if you are an avid beach cleaner too!
My other blog is Wild Daffodil which celebrates creativity in many forms.

We are kindred spirits! I live on the shore in Nova Scotia and have been picking up rusty treasures for a few years now. Your work is inspiring.
